Cut-to-Mark Controller

This product was developed as part of our Cut-off Knife project to add a pre-print capability. Many motor drive systems have a register function but normally require a single pulse which coincides with the pre-printed marks on the product. Pre-printed marks are either 1, 2 or 3 marks so simply feeding the output of a detector into the drive does not work.

The Scienta Cut-to-Mark module (CTM7) is a high speed pattern recognition device which outputs a single pulse to the drive when a particular pattern is detected. A unique software flywheel ensures a regular registration pulse even in the most demanding applications.

The module contains a comprehensive configuration menu and learn facility for simple setups and can communicate directly to an HMI through Modbus or be integrated into a larger control system over Modbus or Profibus-DP.
